Iron & wine

I’ve really been enjoying the new Iron & Wine EP (well, relatively new) Woman King. I can’t get enough of Sam Beam’s voice, something about it just soothes me. Jim Beam and I never got along too well, so Sam is a welcome replacement.

If you haven’t ever listened to Iron & Wine before, I highly recommend Woman King, but I’m sharing a couple tracks that you won’t find on that disc. One is a live performance with The Shins [and disliking The Shins is illegal so you know it’s good], and the other is a cover of Will Oldham’s “We All, Us Three, Will Ride”. Both songs are amazing, especially if you’re already an Oldham or Shins listener.

The first one doesn’t work. :(

Woman King is such a good album. I think I’m the only person who couldn’t get into his earlier stuff, but this album matches his bedroom voice PERFECTLY with upbeat music. lovelovelove

Meagan! I fixed the link for you, you’ll love it. I LOVE the older stuff but I agree the new stuff is even better. :)
