Will I Make It?

I’m behind on music posts, y’all! Good thing I stumbled upon good news this morning as I browsed the INTERNET. Turns out, I might be back in Texas in time for the Austin City Limits 2005 Festival. The set list is intimidating, but a few names I will drop are Bloc Party, Wilco, Coldplay, Oasis, Bob Mould, Built to Spill, Tortoise, Doves, Mates of State and Keane. [See website for full list and schedule.] Anyone in Texas up for going with me, should I make it home in time?

In other news, if you’re a designer and want to compete to redesign Of Montreal’s website, send your submission to: info@polyvinylrecords.com If you ask me, they’re due. Big time. I almost vomited upon seeing that “blue” text background combined with the regular background. Ouch.

So. I discovered The Constantines late, but they’re done recording a new album, Tournament of Hearts, which will be released on Sub Pop in October. One of the leaked tracks, “Soon Enough”, is awesome. I’m super excited about the album release. Totally. masturbatory description: wilco/billy braggish in a good way.

Also, I’m listening to Velella Velella’s “Do Not Fold, Do Not Bend” quite a bit. Find out more about them and download more songs at their website. masturbatory description: what hip-hop should be, and usually isn’t.

Finally, you should really check out Silversun Pickups if you haven’t already. The song “Kissing Families” is my favorite download from their MySpace page. masturbatory description: everyone says ‘think early smashing pumpkins, and i can see why, but you should really hear them for yourself. good rock. and. roll if you ask me.

Bonus: Death Cab for Cutie and the Decemberists cover Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way” (Live) [Thanks fo Jeff from Central Village for the track.] Pre-order Death Cab’s new CD, Plans, from Insound.

Soundblox update to follow.

Paige…
You are such a fascinating person, and so well spoken and all that good stuff. There are not many things that can tear me away from shit that I should REALLY be doing instead of reading about the latest trauma on your side of the world. I am hooked. I love it all.

But there is something I just have to know…how in the name of god can you listen to the stuff you listen to without sliting your wrists open?

keep up the good work

more stories about nosey army wives, please…
