I’m behind on music posts, y’all! Good thing I stumbled upon good news this morning as I browsed the INTERNET. Turns out, I might be back in Texas in time for the Austin City Limits 2005 Festival. The set list is intimidating, but a few names I will drop are Bloc Party, Wilco, Coldplay, Oasis, Bob Mould, Built to Spill, Tortoise, Doves, Mates of State and Keane. So. I discovered The Constantines late, but they’re done recording a new album, Tournament of Hearts, which will be released on Sub Pop in October. One of the leaked tracks, “Soon Enough”, is awesome. I’m super excited about the album release. Totally. masturbatory description: wilco/billy braggish in a good way.
Also, I’m listening to Velella Velella’s “Do Not Fold, Do Not Bend” quite a bit. Find out more about them and download more songs at their website. masturbatory description: what hip-hop should be, and usually isn’t.
Finally, you should really check out Silversun Pickups if you haven’t already. The song “Kissing Families” is my favorite download from their MySpace page. masturbatory description: everyone says ‘think early smashing pumpkins, and i can see why, but you should really hear them for yourself. good rock. and. roll if you ask me.
