I Trust Your Judgement

The nominees for the 2006 Bloggies are all really talented and inspiring (yes, they all make me want to reach for the stars and praise Jesus) writers.

PRAISE JESUS, WRITERS!

You should really take a few minutes and go vote for your favorites, and if you don’t know anyone in the category, go check them out. I did that today, while trying to figure out whyPauly wasn’t nominated in the humor category and discovered You Can’t Make it Up, which held my attention for quite a while and actually made me spit a little iced tea out on my keyboard. Really funny stuff.

Now as you already know, I’m really hard to please and I like to complain and hand out opinions like God Squad Door Beaters (Thanks for waking my three year old up this morning, dipshits.), so naturally I have something to say about the Bloggies besides “Yay for Blogs, Go Vote for People”. For one, I’m unaware as to what reason they might have for not including a Best Music or MP3 Blog, but I’m sure it has to be something better than, “Well, we have a Best Topical or WTF category!” which basically just means another place for PostSecret to be nominated. Sure, I like PostSecret, but you know, I complain.

My favorite blogs of the year, The Sarcastic Journalist, Sweetney, Supafine!, I, Asshole, and Somewhere on the Masthead aren’t there, but that reassures me that we’re all in good company together voting for the blogs that we read and appreciate.

So yeah, I’m a fucking hippy and I love everyone and everyone is so great and wonderful and I’m hoping you’ll go check out the Bloggie Nominees and spread that stinky, ten-year-old-sleeping-bag smell around the web a bit.

In other news, I know a few of you have mentioned coming to Texas during SXSW this year, so I’m hoping that those of you who aren’t criminally insane (notice I qualified the insanity clause? Yeah. We like some sorts of crazy around here.) are more than welcome to get in touch and hang with the Maguire family during the festivities. There’s a bunch of neat interactive things going on, so go check that out, too.

I’m bossy today, huh?

yeah, I got bored just reading the nominees. All my favorites aren’t on there, as usual. Bleh.

I found a few on there that I like. :) But a few on there that I’m left thinking… “WTF? Did they have their Mom vote 3958095 times?”

I’m not even hurt a LITTLE BIT that I’m not one of your favorites.

Not even THIS MUCH. ;-)

Thanks for the rebellious wonderings for my soul and site.

I will say, in all fairness, that there’s a couple of those finalists in the Humor section that are laugh out loud funny. You can’t beat Overheard in New York. That site is hilaritastic (which is a new word I’ve created to make myself feel better for not making the finalists).

I’m new to this whole thing but it definitely seems like a bit of a popularity club or something. It reminds me of highschool and the popular kids. I’m always happy that anyone reads what I have to say.

Except, um, I’m there, and you’re all going to vote for me, right? Um? Right? Oh, dear…

Wow, thanks for the mention. Dooce is nominated though, and that’s good because she never gets any recognition or anything. All “mom blogs” are the same anyway, right? :p Hee hee.
