Episode 60-51
100-91 / 90-81 / 80-71 / 70-61
Last installment until Monday, kiddos. I take it 70-61 wasn’t that exciting but hopefully there will be a few noteworthy (to you, at least) albums in this batch. I’ve even included a couple mp3s this time. As always, feel free to leave your notes in the comments.

It’s work safe, if you aren’t ttlly soaked by photographs of people tied up with sweaters. No, really.
He’s got groundrules, he’s got Technique, he’s got … Def Leppard?
“She’s in a robe, on the not-so-historically accurate porch, watching him walk away. You can almost hear him say, ‘Fuck this, milady, I’m going to go walk around in my jodhpurs.’”
How cute is that?
Damn, that’s a lot of work.
…but the highlight is my note about Lovely Feathers, which actually earned me a few emails - luv and otherwise.

I’ve been in love with the idea of imitating some of my favorite album art in photographs for a long time, and the last week or so has me really starting to consider whether or not I could pull it off. The ideal end result (I’m a wee bit ambitious on this, it would definitely take a very long time and lots of help from friends) would include 25 or so photographs, bound in a book (Qoop would make it easy enough) and presented as a cohesive collection. It would be a catalog of collaboration, between friends that take photographs and submit them, and others willing to pose or help with those images that might need a little lovin’ from Photoshop. (jump to read the rest of my thrilling idea.)

Things are heating up, people. Things are really heating up. I almost feel like I’m betraying some of these for leaving them up so high, but hey, that’s the breaks. As always, feel free to argue or encourage me in the comments section.

You probably know that Austin’s Rock-n-Romp was born from the D.C. idea, but did you know that my very own pal Debbie was behind all that? You know Debbie, she’s making the shirts for the Shitty Mixtape Contest winners.
Well anyways, Deb got some nice attention at DCist (yay ISTs!) and was kind enough to mention us here in Austin (in addition to this blog and my other one (where Aaron contributes as well), Swoon.
All kinds of rad. Go, go Rock-n-Romp!
Oh in other news, if you live in Austin and watch the local morning news on KVUE, you can see me and Phil pimping Rock-n-Romp on the morning of July 27th along with … well, it might be a surprise. Don’t worry, if you’re on the Rock-n-Romp mailing list you’ll know all about it.
