Least Essential Albums of 2006

biggestloser.thumbnail.jpgThe AV Club has compiled a list of the least essential albums of 2006, hilarity ensues. Though I’m partial to anything pointing out how retarded Rachel Ray is, I’m leaning towards an official backing of Various artists, The Biggest Loser: Music Featured In And Inspired By The NBC Series as my top pick.

Yes, we live in a world where “The Biggest Loser” inspires musicians to write songs. We also live in a world where the frog from those ringtone commercials has an album of “hits”, and Aaron Carter can release a greatest hits album at the age of 20. And they say there’s no such thing as Armageddon.

Urm, I actually bought one of those albums . . . the Teddy Geiger one. Oy. At least I only got it off of allofmp3 for a buck. And I liked “Love Monkey”. . . mainly because I’ll watch anything involving Judy Greer.

The Rachel Ray album has a Rock-A-Teens song?! I didn’t see that coming at all.
