Barack 2.0
Barack Obama’s website is incredibly rad. Not only can you watch embedded videos, read the blog, keep up with appearances and news and follow links to his Flickr, YouTube account and Facebook (!), you can register to be a member of the site.
On Obama’s site becoming a member gives you a chance to write your own blog, connect with supporters near you, and share your profile, definitely an indication of one small way in which the web is influencing politics. It’s a small thing, but making a politician’s website neat and 2.0 with usability that encourages visitors to return and communicate with each other via online personas is more than smart, it’s probably necessary.
