Austin Statesman Article on Hipster Parenting

Grupster, Ick!

The interview I gave to the Statesman is out today, in the midst of SXSW and insanity, I read it quickly but I gather it’s about what I expected.

“Adds Maguire: ‘I can sit at the playground and talk to mommies about their art projects, their bands, their businesses and their lives. This in no way implies that any of those things are more important than our kids, it just means that we are more than moms and dads; we’re proper nouns with interests and challenges and dreams that go beyond our day to day lives.’

Maybe the real revolution is that it’s finally cool to be a parent — no matter what you’re wearing.”

Haha.

Awesome. Great pic, too.

I thought JM did a pretty good job, but it’s clear that some of the folks that think they are uncool are probably pretty cool, and there are folks that think themselves very cool while other s do not. What matters to me is that my little Dude thinks I am cool, smart, beautiful and funny. All the things my husband used to think. ha haha :- )

H’lo. Nothing to do with your article, but I just thought you should know your mixtapes are phenomenal. Isn’t Panda Bear so good?
