The Aesthetics of Domestic Sound - A Flux-Rad Summer Mix (.mp3)

My summer mix is complete! I decided to try something new: with the help of Kevin, who is incredibly talented at all things music engineering, I got the basics of Garage Band down and created one continuous mix. It runs about 55 minutes and features the music of Arthur Russell, Battles, Final Fantasy, The Fugs, The Tuss and much more. Follow the jump below for a track listing. Let me know what you think!

The photograph for the album art was taken by Dusdin, a really talented photographer that was kind enough to let me borrow his work. Please do look at his photographs, his portraits are especially compelling.

01 Triosk “Headlights”
02 Menomena “Pherrbit”
03 David Grubbs “Crevasse”
04 Arthur Russell “Instrumentals”
05 Battles “Tras”
06 Aki Tsuyuko “Dreamy Fish”
07 So Percussion “So What”
08 Andrew Bird “–>”
09 Toe “1-21″
10 Apparat “Fractales Pt 1″
11 Mothfight “Hopscotch”
12 The Tuss “Synthacon 9″
13 Caribou “Sundialing”
14 Final Fantasy “Please, Please Please”
15 Sebastien Schuller “Wolf”
16 Animal Collective “My Favorite Colors”
17 Shugo Tokumaru “Metrion”
18 The Fugs “I Want to Know”

Your mix is awesome and I love it and when I am coasting above the earth and I have this playing through the earpieces of my iPhone, I am one with it all…

Until someone calls me.

Any chance you will ever repost this mix? Great tracklist. I can recreate most of it myself, but I’m interested in hearing the segues you created.
