New Rogue Wave “Lake Michigan”
“Lake Michigan” is the first single from the upcoming Rogue Wave album, Asleep At Heaven’s Gate. Aside from the cheesy title, I have high hopes. The track is super low-fi, there’s a slightly more cleaned up version (or at least to my ear) on the band’s MySpace. Sounds like they’re not messing with the formula — good news for fans (perhaps), Rogue Wave doesn’t strike me as the kind of band that’s suddenly going to get really experimental or ground-breaking in the studio. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just not what they do. Lots of pretty singing, lots of pretty guitars. Great mixtape material for girls who love boys who love music that their girls listen to in their car.
