I just discovered this band on MySpace while doing some initial research into possible SXSW acts: Call to Mind. They’re a Glasgow outfit with obvious Sigur Ros tendencies, but with a bit more prog-edge, if I do say so myself. That’s a good thing. You can download songs on their MySpace, and although they only have a demo out and probably have never toured the U.S. before, it’s an interesting find.

i saw these guys in december and they are pretty different to what else is on offer right now. making use of samples their set is one big piece of continuous music from start to finish. they don’t speak when on stage, but then again there is no need – the songs are fabulously rich in texture and rhythm.
highly recommended!
