Stained Zurich’s Album of the Week
Danny shares the ‘Album of the Week’ review his co-worker posted on a bulletin board today.
Now, it’s worth noting that the review is a rather tongue in cheek bit of satire, it’s worth reading (very funny). I really wanted to share this because I imagine a plan like this could be wonderful for office mates world-wide, I am tempted to start it up at my workplace. Since I work at a radio station, I figure it’s either the best or worst place to take it upon myself to start reviewing random records and posting my thoughts on bulletin boards, next to union meeting announcements and pledge drive notices.
Maybe if people did it anonymously. Everyone just silently took turns writing a bit about a record they love, print it out, and hang it up. Each week someone (or many) would sneak around and hang up their bulletins hoping to remain anonymous. That could be totally rad. I believe that Danny and his office mate share reviews they’ve found on the web for others to read, but I rather like the idea of spending a few minutes one morning with my own thoughts, then secretly turning someone random on to whatever it is that caught my fancy.
Sounds narcissistic, but I think I’m more excited about the idea of finding notes in my mailbox at work with album art that takes me on an adventure to find out what has just been anonymously recommended to me. So cool.
