You have no idea how happy I am that this band is from Austin. I’ve been waiting for them.

Think Rodan, Shiner, Quicksand and June of 44: all good ’90s post rock outfits with a tummy-turning low end and Big Black’d guitars. Not to say these guys are trapped in the ’90s. I’ve been wondering where this kind of music had gone, then I found Young Widows. This is the kind of stuff that gets me really excited about the Austin scene. I got this CD in the mail a while back and unfortunately it took me a while to listen. I’ll never let myself live it down. Hopefully they’ll still be available to play at our Fun Fest party in November.
