"The Wu, though, somehow manages to distance itself from actual violence in Raekwon’s new video. The cartoon-esque video makes the violent world they present seem fantastical, but the fact is that most of their listeners will actually take the Wu at face value, and think that in order to succeed they have to sell crack and kill. Perhaps the fantasy-video is a way for the Wu to sleep at night, to avoid feeling guilty for perpetuating, exploiting, and making money from serious problems that real people face. I’m not sure who deserves more punishment: the Wu or the people who listen to this stuff without seeing that it’s disgusting, unsustainable, outmoded, fascistic, and dangerous."
