75: T Rex’s Electric Warrior (1971)

I’m also a huge fan of The Slider, but this record (and my favorite track, “Monolith”) get the spot on my list thanks to their historical significance. Electric Warrior marked the end of Marc Bolan’s hippie folk trash and the beginning of his glam-infused pop trash. Following its release, the UK glam rock craze went officially live, inspiring artists around the world. Sprawling, spacious and hardly serious, Bolan’s epic remains a cut above all others.
