Ryuichi Sakamoto to curate first ever Japanese Meltdown festival
Sakamoto played with his pioneering electro-pop group Yellow Magic Orchestra at the Massive Attack-curated Meltdown in London last year, and is about to play a series of solo piano shows in support of his new compilation Playing The Piano. The album includes stripped-down renditions of some of Sakamoto's best-known work, including soundtrack pieces composed for The Last Emperor and Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence.
